Integrating Cultural Storytelling and Contemporary Art

My journey as a practicing artist deeply informs my approach to teaching, drawing on my background in wearable art, sustainability, and cultural storytelling to inspire creative exploration in the classroom.

Before commencing my Master’s, I completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts and Design at Australian Catholic University (2020), where my commitment to excellence was recognised with the Associate Vice Chancellor’s Award for an outstanding major project.

I also gained valuable industry experience as an AFL SportsReady Arts Trainee at Bunjil Place and through my work with Connection Arts Space, a beloved not-for-profit gallery supporting local artists.

Alongside my studies, I continue to create through ZAMSTUDIO, my wearable art practice that celebrates Chilean heritage, handcrafted textiles, and sustainability.

These experiences have shaped my belief in the power of art education to nurture creativity, cultural understanding, and personal expression.

As I progress through my Master’s, I’m passionate about equipping young people with the tools to explore their identities, engage critically with visual culture, and connect meaningfully with the world around them.
